Cut Out Violence

Domestic Violence is a pattern of abusive behavior or actions to control another person in an intimate relationship. The abuse can be physical, emotional, economic, or sexual in nature.

Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance are dedicated to combating this problem and sending the message that domestic violence is never right, and will not be tolerated.

  • Unwanted touching

  • Refusing to share control & knowledge of money
  • Not allowing a partner to work
 
   
   
  If you are living with or dating someone who is violent, because danger can occur at any time , consider the following:
 
 

Get Help

 
  • Call the police or a domestic violence center.
 
  • Get a protective order.
 
  Plan Ahead
 
  • Practice an escape plan for you and your children.
 
  • Have clothes, cash and important papers in a hidden escape bag.
 
  • If confronted with violence avoid the kitchen, bathroom and rooms without doors to the outside.
